Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

Preparation.

Preparation.

For the month of January, I started a 21 day fast and I must say it was one of the most life changing experiences ever. There were numerous times I tried to fast but failed every time. I wasn't committed or even focused enough to really succeed. This time was different. I knew I wanted to make a change. I read multiple articles, social media posts, and even heard people say that it takes 21 days to break old habits. And I must agree. In 21 days, this fast has not only helped me spiritually but both physically and mentally. I wanted to start the year off completely different, thus the reason for the fast. Pastor MIles mentioned,

"if you want the outcome of the year to be different than the last, then why not change the way you start it?"

This time I was committed. I was focused and determined to give up what I needed to see the change. This last week has been such a challenge but I am determined to make it through. For the fast, I was focused in clean eating, more gym time, no alcohol, and absolutely no junk food OR sweets. And if you know me, I have the biggest sweet tooth of life. I'm someone that needs to eat something sweet after a meal. I'm also a huge fan of anything homemade and ice cream (LOL just writing this is making me want to go get ice cream). It's been such a challenge but I'm happy I did it. I got into a new habit of starting every morning at 5:30 am to make myself a hot cup of green tea to sip on as I read my daily devotions from Joyce Meyer http://www.joycemeyer.org/articles/devotional.aspx. This routine has helped me to just have a time of peace and a time with God. It helps me start my day with a refreshed mind. It helps me start off the day in a good mood. My last official day of the fast is Monday, January 30th and I can't wait to say I did it.

Now, as we go into a new month I've challenged myself to a 28 day blog post challenge. I usually post when something comes to mind, if I get inspired by something or someone. I never really had a set day of when i expect to post something new. But for the month of February, I challenged myself to post words of encouragement, inspirations, my sense of style, etc. I find inspiration on a daily basis. Whether it by something I see, something I've encountered or experienced, people, fashion, etc. Writing and posting something everyday is what I assume to be the challenge, but I'm ready for it. I love challenging myself personally and professionally. I think it allows you to grow and to be mentally stronger. I encourage you to start a 21 day fast and just allow yourself to get rid of old bad habits and create new ones.
