There's always a point in our lives when we feel like we've reached rock bottom. We start to think about all the things that have gone wrong in our lives and completely forget about the good things. We remember hurtful things, we think, then we suffer.
We lack motivation.
We lose hope.
We lose faith.
Why? It's a point in which all the emotions and never ending thoughts that activates more than 70 different parts of the brain, causing the brain to be more active than usual. It's that breaking point in which the brain generates less serotonin (which is associated with our drive and motivation), that causes us to lack motivation, to give up, or to think there is no hope.
For example, when we're in school, we spend countless hours of studying. Sometimes days or weeks to prepare in hopes to ace that one test or final. I don't know about you, but there were so many times when I wanted to give up on school. "It's hard, so much to learn in so little time, I'm tired from work, why do need to know this...." and the list goes on. However, when you think about it, despite how difficult it is, despite how much we want to give up, we don't. We continue studying. We continue trying especially when we're surrounded by others who didn't give up, who motivate you and support you by studying together.
It's their energy of determination and motivation that wants you to keep going. To keep trying.
The same goes with life. Sometimes we go through situations where all we want to do is give up. We lose hope and faith within ourselves to find peace. Train your mind to think positive. Turn unfortunate events in a positive way such as thinking as if it was a blessing in disguise. Remember things happen for a reason. There are some things that are meant for us and some things that aren't. It's easier to accept things as it is and to accept an apology you probably will never get. So If you're feeling like there is absolutely no hope in whatever you may be going through,
THERE IS HOPE.
Change begins with you. Believe you'll overcome whatever you be going through. Believe in yourself. Find peace and happiness within yourself. Love yourself. It all starts with you.
Surround yourself with positive people. People who motivate you, support you, and inspire you.
Take time to get away from your hometown. Refresh your mind by being in a new environment, new surroundings, and new faces. Read, write, be at your happy place where no one and nothing can distract you. Block everything and everyone that may be the reason for you to fall back. Block all that may cause you to feel and lose hope again. Block all where there is no contact and reasons for you to remember. It's a journey, it's a process, and yes it can be hard, but there is hope. One of the greatest decisions I've made was blocking out the people who hurt me completely. From phone numbers, emails, to social media. I did it all. It's a sense of relief and happiness. I promised myself I would never give another opportunity a chance to enter my life for me to feel hopeless again. Why go back to the things that once made you feel like you hit rock bottom?
Let your happiness come first.
